It doesn't affect the choice of preposition, nor does the preposition reflect that spatial arrangement. Anyway, I've only listed those meanings of за which can be translated as "for".

I had forgotten to mention it in my answer, so since you enumerated the main meanings of за, feel free to add this meaning, too.
